3D Contemporary Collage Workshop

Students will create a piece of art worthy of being put in a frame in the Contemporary 3D Collage Workshop! Students will choose and arrange images, select a color palette, and develop a center of interest to create an aesthetically pleasing framed composition.
Students are encouraged to collect their own fabric, art magazines, hand made papers, beads and small collage objects in a variety of shapes and sizes that reflect your taste, only if you want to personalize your piece. These items should be meaningful to you, such as concert tickets, letters, maps from trips you’ve taken, memorabilia, and old book pages, etc. The more material means the more design options you’ll have. Matte medium, glue brushes, and many many other items/supplies, and images are provided. You do not have to bring anything. Keep in mind, no image or object should larger than 9”. Details on the 3D frame are provided at workshop.

Cost: $230.00 All supplies are provided, plus a cup of tea.

Painting Workshop

Design and develop your visual dialogue as you work with multiple materials and create an art piece from concepts including imagery and symbolism. We work with acrylic paint and other items such as paper, fabric, text, found objects, and apply various mediums to create a vibrant work of art on a pre-gessoed 10x10x2in. wood panel.
Cost: $230.00 Supplies, painting surface and a cup of tea is provided.

Mixed Media “Painting” Enlargement
Six Week Class

Class takes place at Creative Arts Center of Dallas
This intermediate mixed media painting class works with acrylics, oil pastels, and cut paper. Students will work from an approved photo that you will then learn how to enlarge onto a 16x20 or larger canvas. This is not a traditional portrait class, but a contemporary approach to painting with texture, layering, composition and applied materials. Students need to have some painting experience, and you will leave this class with the knowledge of how to enlarge a work of art, use a template, and how to combine different mediums together.
Prerequisites: Have experience working with acrylic, shading and mixing color. Pre-approval by instructor before registration.

Private and Semi-private lessons
A private lesson studio painting class is for the intermediate student. The student will learn how to develop and work from concepts including, text, imagery, and symbolism, and will work with acrylic archival mediums and develop a visual dialogue. The student will leave with an understanding of layering, glazing, multi-dimensional collage, masking and pattern fields. One first day of class we will begin working from poetry and text, so bring a poem or text of some kind that you find profound. Minimal supplies for the class will be provided, yet students should be prepared to begin working and bring own supplies for the first day of class.

Mixed Media Portrait
Four Week Class - Semi-private

Space is limited in this semi-private class because of social distances to 3 students.

This class is detailed oriented and takes time to masterfully create your image in the three hours we have together each week. Students work from an 8.5 x 11 photograph of the portrait you are creating, either yourself or a child. Most supplies is provided. You may want to purchased your own special art papers as needed.
$540.00 if paid by check/cash or Zelle. Your REGISTRATION payment holds your space in the class.
